About this sauna
Set on the dunes at Elie Harbour in the East Neuk of Fife, Elie Seaside Sauna offers a quiet, off-grid escape by the sea. Housed in a converted horse trailer and built from heat-treated aspen, the sauna is angled towards the setting sun, with a full-length glass window looking out across marram grass, Woodhaven Bay, and the coastline beyond.
Inside, the experience is deliberately simple. There are no distractions – just heat, sea air, and the shifting light outside. Time slows, conversation flows, and the focus shifts to the rhythm of hot and cold.
Born from Elie’s sea-swimming community and inspired by Nordic sauna culture, it reconnects with a long-standing relationship between coastal living and sauna bathing. It’s a place to unwind, reset, and spend time in nature.
