About this sauna
Set within Elie Holiday Park, this sauna sits on a grassy rise above the dunes, just back from the beach. It’s an open setting with caravans nearby, children playing around the site and people sitting outside tents and campervans in good weather, giving it a more social atmosphere than some quieter outdoor saunas.
From the sauna, you look out towards the dunes and coastline, with the beach just below. Getting to the sea involves a short walk across the sand, though the distance to the water changes with the tide and can sometimes be much longer.

What’s nearby
A café within the holiday park offers coffee and snacks nearby, while the on-site restaurant is also available at certain times (check opening hours before visiting). Coastal paths and dunes nearby make it easy to add a walk along the shoreline before or after your sauna session. The holiday park also includes a bar, arcade and playpark, giving the area a busier and more family-oriented atmosphere than some quieter outdoor sauna locations.

From my visit
The sauna has a more open and social feel than some outdoor saunas, with people relaxing outside caravans and tents nearby and children often playing around the holiday park. Sitting on a small rise above the dunes, it’s very visible rather than tucked away, which adds to the lively atmosphere around the site.
Access to the beach is easy, though the distance to the water changes a lot with the tide. When the tide is out, getting to the sea can involve a fairly long walk across the sand, which takes time out of your sauna session. Cold water buckets are available beside the sauna, so it’s worth checking tide times in advance if sea dips are an important part of the experience for you.
What stood out most was the classic holiday park atmosphere around the sauna, with people relaxing outside caravans and heading to and from the beach throughout the day. The setting works especially well when the tide is in and the sea is easier to reach between sauna rounds.
