About this sauna

Wild Ritual Sauna Dunure is a mobile wood-fired sauna most often set up at Dunure Harbour on the South Ayrshire coast. Being mobile it can move location, though Dunure Harbour is where it’s most consistently based, right on the Firth of Clyde.

The heat comes from a traditional wood-burning stove, with a sauna master on hand to add scented water to the hot rocks as the session runs. Cold water afterwards depends on where the sauna is set up on the day, with sea, river or loch options available, plus fresh water and plunge buckets on site as a cold-water option too.

What’s nearby

Dunure village has a café and a pub/restaurant a short walk from the harbour, along with the ruins of Dunure Castle and its old dovecote right above the car park. The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs directly through the village, with routes heading south towards Culzean Castle and Maidens or north towards Ayr. The harbour itself was used as a filming location for the TV series Outlander.
