About this sauna
Set along Granton promenade beside The Pitt, a street food market and events space, Soul Water Sauna is a coastal sauna with open views across the Firth of Forth.
It has a lively, social feel, with a steady buzz from the promenade and people moving between the saunas, cold plunge and seating areas.
The sauna is open and visible, adding to the atmosphere, with the pebble beach just a short walk along the promenade.
It’s a fun, sociable place to spend a few hours by the sea.
I visited here with my fiancé for his first time trying a wild sauna.

From my visit
It felt lively, social and had fun vibes, with people coming and going, chatting, and a steady buzz from the promenade and The Pitt nearby. It wasn’t too busy though - there were around 12 people when I visited, and it still felt relaxed and easy to enjoy.
No - there are plunge pools and a cold shower on site, so you don’t need to use the sea. The shower was under a tree and that and the plunge pools overlook the sea so you get a lovely view when you're cooling down.
Yes - I brought my fiancé for his first wild sauna experience and it worked really well. The setup is great, the atmosphere is friendly, and you can take everything at your own pace. It is quite open though, with people walking past, so it’s better suited to those happy with a more social, public setting.
