A peaceful lochside sauna set among woodland

Lochside Loch swim

About this sauna

Set beside a quiet loch, this wood-fired sauna is part of a wider outdoor space centred around nature and simple, open-air experiences.

Positioned right on the water’s edge, it’s designed for easy movement between heat and cold – with the option to cool off in the loch or simply sit outside between rounds. Surrounded by woodland and open views across the water, the setting adds as much to the experience as the sauna itself.

I visited Eden Springs for a social session to see what it’s actually like, especially the group dynamic and the loch swim.

Before you go

If you’re new to wild saunas, these quick answers might help

Do you have to go in the water?

No — you can enjoy the sauna on its own.

Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes — you can take everything at your own pace.

From my visit

Is it easy to find once you arrive?

It can be slightly tricky to locate at first, as signal may drop within the park. Using What3Words (jacuzzi.sandbags.songbird) helps for the final approach, and the sauna is located just past the coffee shop.

What’s the loch like for cold water dips?

The loch is deep - once you climb down the ladder, you won’t be able to touch the bottom and will be swimming straight away. It’s calm and easy to access, and you’ll often spot ducks nearby while you’re in the water.

Is there someone on-site during sessions?

Yes - there’s a host on-site throughout, which helps everything run smoothly and gives reassurance if you have any questions or need anything.
